Hearing God in the quiet and still places
It is not always easy to consent to God’s presence in the busyness of our daily activities and preoccupations. This doesn’t change the fact that God is indeed present with us in even the smallest of daily things like naps, hurried lunches, and sending emails. But gosh, sometimes it would be wonderful to be able to access that space where we are able to “be still and know…” Sometimes we need to get away from the hustle and bustle, again, not to somehow find God, but to shut out the noise in order to hear his gentle voice. Just as we set aside special time to hang out with a friend or have a date with our significant other, we can make a quiet and still space to be with Jesus.
This advent, let the reminder of Jesus’ gentle and lowly entrance into our world prompt you to find a quiet space to connect with him and consent to his love for you.
