Lord teach us to pray.

The prayer Jesus taught his disciples is short and simple. So simple a child can easily memorize it. But contained within these words is, as St Cyprian says, an entire "compendium of heavenly doctrine." Absolutely nothing that we can or ought to pray for is left out.

Full text of the Lord's Prayer

Traditional Version

Our Father, which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory, For ever and ever.
Amen.

Stuff to know about the Lord's prayer

The terms prologue, introduction, petition.

It's an amalgamation of two places in scripture.
