Signpost Inn Ministries is a 501(c)3 non profit founded in 2020 by Brandon and Liv Booth.

‍Our mission is to provide soul care that lifts people’s gaze from the chaos of life and helps them attend to the presence of Jesus as he is revealed in his word. We primarily do this by creating content, offering spiritual direction, and hosting events.

We are for anyone who wants to heal and deepen their relationship with Jesus.

Our distinictive is that offer soul care from a Lutheran perspective which means that everything we do starts with what God does for us, not what we need to do for God.

An Inn At The Crossroads

Our name reflects our passion for Christian hospitality. 

We all find ourselves at crossroads in life. We need to know we have a place and a purpose. We need something to root us in the present, to stop our whirring thoughts for a moment. We need to be a guest. Sitting at a table, welcomed into a home, eating and drinking, connecting the body to the soul, these things are life.

Signpost Inn is also a conviction that the objective truth about God has subjective significance. We practice simple faith in Jesus as he is revealed in the Bible. We do not seek ecstatic or mystical experiences, though God may grant these consolations when he chooses. They are always pure gifts of God and are not necessary or sufficient causes of spiritual growth. We believe God is primarily known and encountered through the objective means of scripture, sacraments, and the gathering of saints (though we recognize that not all Christians see these things the same way). We also believe that when seen with the eyes of pure faith, every moment is also a sacrament, that is, an ordinary experience of God’s true presence.  

Finally, we accept that frailty and suffering characterize the Christian life more often than not. God uses affliction to produce hope in his love. Neither effort nor virtue guarantee we will feel close to God. Instead, prayer is characterized by slowing down, letting go, and consenting to his loving presence and action in every moment. In other words, our method is to “be still and know” God. We do not teach spiritual exercises as virtue training and we do not measure spiritual maturity by subjective feelings.

Statement on faith affiliations

We are an interdenominational ministry. While we desire unity with all our Christian brothers and sisters, we also believe that denominational differences are significant and should neither be ignored nor downplayed. We seek unity through mutual respect for, and dialogue about differences rather than denial of them. Further, we are not “inter-faith.” Our events and services are open to everyone, but we require all leadership, staff, representatives, and volunteers to adhere to Christian orthodoxy as described in the Nicene Creed.

Statement on church

We believe that the church, in local congregations, is divinely instituted to be God’s physical presence in the world. There we hear the gospel preached, receive forgiveness of sins, and partake in the mysteries of the sacraments (though we recognize that not all denominations agree with all of these statements). 

Due to human sin, there are plenty of problems and errors within all churches. It’s neither our job nor interest to critique or correct these. We are not called to repair or replace the church or local congregations; instead we exist to support them by strengthening the faith of all Christians. 

We desire to come alongside Christian churches and offer welcome, rest, education, and connection to all who need it.
