Virtual Workshop: Contemplative Prayer
We often associate prayer with the words we say. And sometimes, we feel required to “report” to God — perhaps out of feelings of guilt or anxiety — or like we are shouting our requests into a dark, empty room. Sometimes he feels distant and uncaring. And there are so many demands on our time. We feel anxious, sad, and insufficient. It’s exhausting.
Prayer does not have to be another requirement. It doesn’t have to be more work.
The historic christian practice of contemplative prayer is a simple way to reconnect with God personally. It’s the practice of consenting to his real presence and unconditional love. It’s learning to really rest in his care.
This short workshop will provide simple, structured guidance for how to practice contemplative prayer. And along the way you’ll gain a fresh perspective on God and yourself, all while remaining truly biblical and rooted in historic Christianity.
